“That’s because…” Fenris immediately started, but the sentence got interrupted by his own thoughts. Could he really tell Hawke something like this? It probably wouldn’t make his argument more convincing. However, it was the truth, and their conversation had already hit rock bottom anyway. With his eyes still captivated by the raging flames, he continued: “It’s because your love for him is creating a dangerous situation. You know very well that many people don’t approve of your relationship. Myself included. And I know that the both of you are terribly hardheaded, so you will probably do anything to be able to stay together. Your love is a reckless one, Hawke.”
The argument could have been made that Hawke was reckless regardless of who he loved, but he suppose that wasn’t doing any favours his relationship. He was fully aware of how a large majority of his circle of friends seemed to disapprove of Anders and they frowned even more when they learned that they were together, but thus far their discussions with him hadn’t been quite as volatile as the one he was having with Fenris. Granted having a discussion with Fenris where things didnt’ get at least a little heated was rare enough given their opposing views.
“If I actually cared about what people thought I would have gone and married the Reinhardt girl,” he huffed though he was losing a lot of his initial anger. It was hard to stay mad at a friend who was only looking out for his best interests after all. “I know something’s going to happen. Something bad. I really do know, but I’ll take care of things like I always do. Champion and Kirkwall and everything. You really don’t have to worry.”
